Our family enjoyed visiting this beach. We appreciated the free palapas (first come, first serve) the beautiful view, and soft sand. The water was definitely rough so wouldn't suggest for novice/small children. There were showers and bathrooms, however, not sure when they're open because by the time we went to the them the bathrooms were locked and showers were turned off. Overall good experience.

The beach was really beautiful and it’s free. The parking is tip based, thats it. Its was not crowded. We had quite great time hanging out here. The place had so many local people, they were friendly.

(Budget Beach Guide + Bus Tips) Today we decided to check out the public beach, Playa Delfines, in the Hotel Zone. We jumped on the R-2 bus from our place — should’ve been about 20 minutes. When we finally got onto the beach though… wow. The sea colours were incredible and the sand was beautiful. We thought, “Perfect — let’s grab a drink and enjoy the view.” That’s where it went a bit wrong. Unless you’re staying in one of the hotels, you can’t buy a drink — and unless we completely missed something, there aren’t any public bars or restaurants there. We walked for ages trying to find somewhere, but nothing. The sea looked stunning but also pretty rough. We actually saw a guy being pulled out by lifeguards using a rope — definitely not calm swimming conditions and they did have red flags flying. We spotted a bar on the lagoon side when we were on the bus and thought we’d just walk along the beach until we found a way back to the road. Nope. The hotels are like Fort Knox — no cut-throughs at all. Joanne asked a lifeguard if there was anywhere to get a drink. She just shrugged and said no. We asked how to get back to the road… again, no nearby exit. Fair play to her though — after listening to our terrible Spanglish, she took pity on us and walked us through one of the hotels so we could get out. Absolute legend.

The water was pleasantly warm, the views were beautiful, and the beach was exceptionally clean. The restroom facilities were well maintained, and parking was convenient with assistance available from attendants who help guide you for tips. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and well-organized experience.

Beach itself is great. Clean and sandy. Big issue is wind and wave size and intensity. If you like to swim in calm water, this is not the place. I wouldn't go here anymore.
